Michigan's loss to Duke is its seventh consecutive defeat dating back to their season-ending loss to Ohio State in the 2002 Big Ten Tournament. U-M's worst recorded losing streak is nine straight games during the 1967 season.
Duke now leads the all-time series against Michigan 17-7 and has won the last five meetings between the two schools. The Wolverines last beat Duke during the 1997 season, 81-73 at Crisler Arena.
Michigan had a season-high 25 turnovers, and the Wolverines had season lows in blocks and steals, totaling three in each category.
The Blue Devils stole the ball 14 times against U-M, which is the most that Michigan has allowed this season.
Freshman Graham Brown was the starting center for the second consecutive game, while senior LaVell Blanchard, junior Bernard Robinson Jr. and freshman Daniel Horton were in the lineup for the sixth straight game. Freshman Lester Abram got the start at guard for the fifth time in six games.
Sophomore forward Chuck Bailey had a season-high 11 points in 20 minutes of play against the Blue Devils, shooting 5-of-6 from the field and pulling down three rebounds. He was named Michigan's Player of the Game by CBS.
Lester Abram matched his career and season high with 14 points against Duke after shooting 5-of-7 from the field.
LaVell Blanchard chipped in nine points and four rebounds for the Wolverines.
Bernard Robinson Jr.'s five-game streak of scoring in double figures was snapped as he totaled a season-low four points on 2-of-9 shooting from the field.
Fifth-year senior Rotolu Adebiyi made his season debut against Duke, playing four minutes at forward.
