ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan freshman Alan Webb (Reston, Va./South Lakes HS), the American high school record holder in the mile at 3:53.43, will redshirt the indoor track season. Bothered by Achilles tendinitis, Webb has not competed during the 2002 indoor season.
"Alan's Achilles has been bothering him and he has not been able to train the way he anticipated," said Michigan head coach Ron Warhurst. "We think Alan will be ready for the outdoor season and that is what we are planning on for right now."
