Morrison has served a dual capacity for the Wolverines in recent years, coordinating the team's recruiting (since 1995) and special teams (since 1997). He was hired by Bo Schembechler in 1987 and has coached on both sides of the ball during his career, directing the outside linebackers for eight seasons (1987-94) and serving two years as offensive line coach (1995-96).
In his role as recruiting coordinator, Morrison's efforts have turned in top 10 recruiting classes seven of the past eight seasons, including the nation's No. 1 class in 1998 and the No. 2-rated class in 2001.
Morrison has coached at seven different college programs and this year completed his 31st year as a college coach. He participated in 17 bowl games, including one every year during his career at Michigan.
Carr will announce Morrison's replacement at a later date.
