FINAL SPRING STANDINGS (U-M retains the Cup)
PONTIAC CHALLENGE CUP YEAR IN REVIEW
Premiere: Friday, June 4 (6:30 p.m.)
"Pontiac Challenge Cup Year in Review" premieres Friday, June 4, at 6:30 p.m. It also airs Saturday, June 12, at 5 p.m.; Saturday, June 19, at 11 a.m.; and Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m. The show is hosted by Mickey York and looks back at some of the top performances and personalities involved with the head-to-head competition between the Wolverines and Spartans.
Michigan is in possession of the Pontiac Challenge Cup as the 2003-04 athletic calendar closes. The Wolverines won the Fall competition. The scoring for the Winter and Spring seasons each ended deadlocked, and like golf's Ryder Cup, the trophy does not change hands in the event of a tie.
Pontiac's presenting sponsorship of the Challenge Cup included a donation of $155,000 divided evenly between the athletic scholarship funds at Michigan and Michigan State.
