U-M Head Coach Steve Burns
On the game ... "It was an exciting ending. I was most worried about that first overtime because we were playing into the wind and they were pressing us hard. A lot of credit has to go to Notre Dame; they put together a great season and they are a great team. We were able to make a few adjustments and we are very pleased to get out of here with a win today. There are a lot of guys that were 'Man of the Match' today. Trai Blanks matched up with Kevin Richards and did a great job against him, and Mychal Turpin did not sacrifice any of his offense and gave us a lot of defense on the other side of the field."
On Mike White ... "You want that kid up there. Their fifth shooter (Justin Detter) is a Michigan kid, and I was really suppressing the thought of Michigan players that have left the state, but as soon as I saw (Peter) Dzubay make the save, an Ohio boy, I saw a guy who is a Michigan player true and true stepping up to the line; it put a smile on my face, because I knew he was going to make that shot and there was going to be a huge celebration."
