Michigan Head Coach Cheryl Burnett
On the game in general ... "We really needed an effort like this. I thought our energy level was so much better than it had been in our last three games. I hate to make excuses but our schedule early in the season was so busy and then the kids have finals right on the heels of that, so we took advantage of the opportunity this past week to just work on us. Obviously, Pool was awesome and played such a complete basketball game, but I am happy about the fact it was a team effort. Niki Reams drew some charges and passed the ball well, while Kelly Helvey gave us such a spark off the bench with her energy. I also have to mention BreAnne McPhilamy, who gave us a huge boost off the bench in the second half."
On Tabitha Pool ... "I think she shot the ball with better confidence today. Even when she was struggling a little bit earlier this season, I felt she was getting great looks at the basket, and my philosophy is you keep looking for your shot as long you are getting those types of looks. Today, she had a couple drop early and her confidence was up the rest of the game."
