DiGiore Claims Vault Crown at Big Ten Individual Finals

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Freshman Andrew DiGiore (Buffalo, N.Y./City Honors School) posted his season-best score on the vault (9.625) en route to being crowned Big Ten champion for the event Saturday (March 29) at the Big Ten Championships individual event finals at Ohio State's St. John Arena. It was the second straight night that DiGiore had posted a season-best score on the vault, with the result being a first-place finish each day.

Senior Brian Peterson (Albuquerque, N.M./Eldorado HS) competed in the event finals of the pommel horse (8.400) and captured seventh place. Peterson was one of eight finalists on the pommel horse after qualifying for the event finals with a strong performance on Friday that matched his season best (9.200).
Senior Conan Parzuchowski (Northville, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit HS) led all Wolverine finalists on still rings (9.625) to finish second. Senior captain Scott Vetere (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown HS) finished in third place on the still rings (9.500).
Laury, who earn All-Big Ten honors with his runner-up all-around finish Friday, captured third place on the horizontal bar (9.300) and competed in the event finals on still rings, taking seventh place for the event (9.150).
Next up for the Wolverines is the NCAA Championships on April 11-13 at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The event begins with two National Qualifier sessions on Friday, April 11, at 1 and 7 p.m.
