Field of Wolverines: Arianne Paces U-M at EMU Open

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Sophomore/freshman Arianne Field (Kalamazoo, Mich./Hackett HS) of the University of Michigan women's cross country team posted a time of 19:23 for second place to pace the Wolverines Saturday morning (Aug. 30) at the 5,000-meter, non-scoring EMU Open at Buhr Park.
Donning the Maize and Blue for the first time in her Michigan career, Field led a pack of three Wolverines into the finish line as teammates Erin Webster (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child HS) and Anna Jones (Omaha, Neb./Marian HS) finished third and fourth, respectively. Webster, running unattached, clocked in at 19:26, while Jones crossed the finish line in 19:33.
Also posting top-15 finishes were Lesley Jurasek (Concord, Mich./Albion HS), Laura Brosius (Saline, Mich./Saline HS) and Amy Baker (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron HS). Jurasek placed 11th in 19:54, Brosius finished 12th in 19:58, and Baker clocked in at 19:59 for 13th.
Jessica Wagner (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy HS) and Erika Flannery (Perry, Mich./Perry HS) rounded out Michigan's attached finishers as Wagner placed 19th (20:30) and Flannery finished 26th (21:47).
The Wolverines have a week off from competition before they head to Oxford, Ohio, for the Miami Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 10:15 a.m. Michigan last ran at the Miami Invitational in 2001.
