This is the first game since 1949 between Michigan and Minnesota at Michigan Stadium where both teams entered the game ranked in the national polls.
Today's announced crowd of 111,518 is the largest for a homecoming game in Michigan history. The crowd is also the largest of the season and the eighth-largest in Michigan Stadium history.
U-M has drawn in excess of 100,000 fans for 184 straight games.
With its 27-24 victory against Minnesota, Michigan has compiled an 80-24 record in homecoming games and is 9-1 under head coach Lloyd Carr.
The Wolverines claimed their 24th win in 31 tries against the Golden Gophers on homecoming. Minnesota is U-M's most common homecoming opponent.
This is the second straight season that the Wolverines have knocked off an unbeaten Golden Gophers team.
Michigan claimed possession of the Little Brown Jug for the 16th straight time. The Wolverines have a 63-21-2 edge in Little Brown Jug games.

Senior wide receiver Braylon Edwards has scored at least one touchdown in six straight home games and in 10 of his last 12 at the Big House. He has now caught at least one touchdown in four straight games.
Braylon Edwards' four-yard touchdown grab in the second quarter gives him 32 for his career and moved him into a tie with Desmond Howard (1989-91) for second place on Michigan's all-time receiving touchdowns list. Edwards is five touchdowns short of tying Anthony Carter (1979-82) for No. 1 on the list.

Junior tight end Tyler Ecker's touchdown on U-M's game-winning drive was the first of his career. The score put the Wolverines up 26-24 with 1:57 to play in the game.
Tyler Ecker tied a career high with three receptions and set a career high with 38 yards. His previous high for receiving yards was 31 against Southern Cal in the 2004 Rose Bowl (Jan. 1, 2004).
Junior wide receiver Jason Avant became the 21st player in U-M history to break the 1,000-yard receiving barrier in his career. Avant finished the game with six receptions for 87 yards and now has 65 receptions for 1,006 yards in his career.
Junior Rueben Riley started at left guard against Minnesota, his first career starting assignment.
Freshman quarterback Chad Henne threw for more than 300 yards in his second straight game today. Henne set career highs in attempts, completions and yards, completing 33-of-49 attempts for 328 yards and two touchdowns.
Henne's 49 attempts are tied for the fourth-highest total in Michigan history, the 33 completions are tied for second and the 328 yards rank eighth. All three are U-M freshman records.
Freshman running back Michael Hart set a U-M freshman record with 160 yards rushing today. Hart finished the game with 35 carries for 160 yards and one touchdown.
Michael Hart scored his third touchdown of the season in the first quarter. The score marked the third consecutive game Hart has reached the end zone.

Michael Hart also set career highs with six receptions for 53 yards. His previous high for receptions was two vs. Iowa (Sept. 25) and Indiana (Oct. 2), and his previous high in receiving yardage was 36 yards against the Hoosiers.
Senior safety Ernest Shazor set a career high with 12 tackles, including four tackles for loss. Two of his TFLs came on the Gophers' second-to-last drive of the game. Shazor leads the team with 40 tackles and seven TFLs this season.
Ernest Shazor made four TFLs for a total loss of 17 yards, accounting for half of U-M's total TFL production. The Michigan defense totaled eight TFLs for a loss of 34 yards.
Minnesota Notes
Laurence Maroney's 80-yard run ties a career-high long run. Maroney also had an 80-yard touchdown run against Illinois State.
Maroney has rushed for more than 100 yards in seven consecutive games dating back to last season's Sun Bowl win over Oregon.
