Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "We knew they were a good forechecking team, and they did a good job of keeping us off balance and keeping us from making more than one pass at a time. There were a lot of turnovers and scrambly play and the penalties in the game kind of take players out of the fold. There was not much flow to this game."
On playing at home at Yost ... "Where would you rather play a home game If you can't feed off this crowd, I mean, our crowd is terrific. There is no question that players play better in front of a supportive crowd."
On playing on the road tomorrow night ... "How you play on the road dictates your season. I don't think there are many teams in college hockey or pro hockey that have a better road record than home record and that's the challenge to be as good on the road or even as close to good."
On the return of sophomore T.J. Hensick to the lineup ... "I liked his play. I liked the way he bounced back and played with some serious authority. He had one of the best hits in the first period and a goal and he was competing hard. You could see the type of player he is when he does that."
Senior Forward Milan Gajic
On the ability to play with different lineups ... "It's different with this team because there are only two new guys up front and we've all played with each other. I can play with Ryz (Jason Ryznar) or Kal (Brandon Kaleniecki) or whoever. If you're throwing four or five or six guys into the mix, guys that we haven't played with, then it would have been a different story. It's easier to get to know two new guys, compared to five or six. We know where everyone is going to be. We've all played enough games where we kind of know what everyone is going to do at certain times."
Junior Forward Brandon Kaleniecki
On the slow start ... "It was slow at the start, it seemed like we weren't playing our game. They were doing a good job of slowing the game down. We weren't moving our feet, we weren't getting anything going."
On the lack of flow in the game ... "Anytime there's a game like that where there's penalty after penalty, it's hard to get anything going. You don't know if you're going to get a regular shift; it's very difficult to get any flow going to the game."
