ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior defenseman Brandon Rogers (Rochester, N.H.) earned the U.S. College Hockey Online National Defensive Player of the Week award on Tuesday (Dec. 7) for his strong performance last weekend (Dec. 3-4) against Notre Dame. Just one day earlier (Monday, Dec. 6) he was recognized by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association as its Defenseman of the Week.

Rogers and his fellow blue-liners permitted Notre Dame to take only 38 shots on goal all weekend. Rogers was tied for the team lead with a +3 during the series and is second on the team with a +9 rating this season. His seven points (2-5-7) this season put him second among U-M defensemen.
The USCHO Defensive Player of the Week award is Rogers' first national honor. His CCHA Defenseman of the Week laurel was also a first. On Nov. 9, Jeff Tambellini (Port Moody, B.C.) was chosen as USCHO's Offensive Player of the Week.
