DaCosta becomes just the third Wolverine to earn three consecutive All-Big Ten citations since the inception of the honor in 1991. Playing at the No. 1 singles and doubles slots for the Wolverines the past three seasons, she set a career high in overall wins (20-13) in singles action this season while raising her career record to 56-43. The Wolverine junior also matched her career best with 14 dual-match victories this season and has won eight of her last 13 matches.
In doubles, DaCosta has teamed with freshman Kara Delicata (LaSalle, Ontario/Sandwich Secondary) to compile a 13-8 dual-match record at the No. 1 spot and owns an overall mark of 18-12 this season.
Jumping into the No. 2 position in just her first season at Michigan, Exon registered a team-leading 27-13 overall singles record and posted a 14-6 mark in dual-meet action. With her 27 wins this season, Exon ranks second on Michigan's freshman wins list, tied with Erryn Weggenman (27-13, 1996-97), and needs only two more victories to reach the top spot.
Michigan's season continues next weekend at the 2004 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship. The Wolverines face Denver Friday (May 14, 10 a.m. PDT) in first-round action at Stanford University's Taube Family Tennis Center in Palo Alto, Calif.
