Weather Suspends Competition on First Day at NCAAs

AUSTIN, Texas -- After numerous delays caused by heavy rain and lightning in the area, the first day of competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships was suspended at approximately 8 p.m. CDT on Wednesday (June 9). The preliminaries of the women's 4x100-meter relay was the only running event completed, and NCAA representatives announced a revised schedule of events.
Competition days and times for the men's 800-meter run, featuring U-M sophomore Andrew Ellerton (Sudbury, Ontario/Confederation HS), did not change as the preliminary round of the event will simply replace the semifinals at 7 p.m. on Thursday (June 10).
