Michigan's power-play goal extended a season-long streak, scoring with the extra attacker in each of the first 13 games.
Tim Miller scored his first career goal. He has points in three of Michigan's last four games with a 1-3-4 line in that span.
The Wolverines have now lost six straight games in the College Hockey Showcase. Their last win came in 2002 against Minnesota in Minneapolis (Dec. 1).
Tyler Swystun registered his first career assist.
Brandon Naurato is riding a three-game goal-scoring streak in which he has tallied four times. He also has points in a career-best four straight games (4-1-5).
Brandon Kaleniecki did not dress tonight due to injury, snapping his 108-game streak in the lineup. Kaleniecki last sat out a game during his freshman season, also due to injury, on Feb. 22, 2003.
T.J. Hensick was held off the scoresheet for just the third time this season. The pointless night ended a six-game point streak for the U-M junior. The Wolverines are 0-2-1 this season when Hensick does not tally a point.
Chad Kolarik was also held without a point, snapping his career-best six-game point streak.

Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On the outcome of the game ... "Well, mistakes cost us, obviously. Positioning on the last goal, giveaway on the first goal or second goal, and obviously we weren't matching the pace of the game, the work ethic in the game. I mean, you're not going to beat anybody with 11 shots in two periods against a 95 percent goalie. I think we got a wakeup call this weekend, and we need to take advantage of it."
On the special-teams play ... "Our penalty kill was better. We worked harder, we did some good things on it. I mean, we haven't given up five goals in a game in I don't know how long, and it's just one of those games that we had to get it out of our system. Tonight we were a better team but we have to be better than that. That's a benchmark team, that's a Frozen Four team. And maybe the team was last night, but obviously we have to do some soul searching, regroup and learn something from this weekend."
On if there was anything in the third period that made him think a comeback was possible ... "Well, I think it's possible. We started putting ourselves on the line, we had a better work ethic, we started putting ourselves on the line, we got the puck deep, we got it wide, we did some better things with the puck, and we did some better things without the puck, but we have to be better than that."
On what makes Wisconsin so tough ... "Well, obviously their goalie. He's their best defense. And the defense plays defense, they're back and you rarely get an odd-numbered rush, you rarely get a second shot. He saw a lot of loose pucks and rebounds, and our forwards couldn't get to them or didn't get to them or weren't sure they wanted to pay the price to get to them. And they've got a team system that's based on playing good defense -- they don't have to score a lot of goals to win. Could we have scored a few Yeah, we could have, but we didn't. We have chances, and I think we gave them a good game, but that is not good enough for Michigan."
U-M Senior Captain/Forward Andrew Ebbett
On tonight's game ... "I thought we played good in the third period until the last two minutes. We were not as strong as we were last night. We were a little rough in the first two periods and we just did not have any home-ice presence. Two unearned goals, we cannot give them those opportunities."
On not taking advantage of their opportunities ... "I thought they (Wisconsin) were a little tired. I do not think we took advantage of it. I think we had a lot of chances to get the forecheck. We are too patient, we are trying to get the X's and O's. We need to start getting a little bit more creative, get the second guy to come down the zone a little harder, and start forcing the play a little more."
On the disappointing weekend ... "It is time for guys to take a peek in the mirror and start owning up. They are not freshmen anymore, they have played 13 games, and even the upperclassmen need to take it upon ourselves and stop pointing fingers. We have had a good first 11 games and now we know what it is like against the rest of the country, with two top-five teams right there. It is time to wake up and get back to basics."
