Michigan Head Coach Cheryl Burnett
Opening statement ... "What a stat sheet. Of course, at this point, I would like to look at our turnovers to the opponent's turnovers. We've really been talking to our point guards about handling the basketball, and now you're talking about two point guards that had zero turnovers between the two of them, and we had a team that had seven players in double figures. I really felt like our two post players, Carly Benson and Stephany Skrba, did a tremendous job both defensively and offensively. We shot 60 percent from the field in the game, so we're pleased."
On the team's execution ..."We executed very well, we communicated extremely well, and we defended well enough. We talk a lot about fundamentals of the game that we can control, turnovers being one, blocking out being another. With execution, you always know it's going to take a team a while to understand what they need to execute and when, and we executed extremely well. People were where they needed to be."
U-M Freshman Carly Benson
On what it's like when everything is going well ... "It was great to have us all playing together, being on the same page, especially with our leader, Kelly (Helvey), being out. So, it was just good for us to get the win, knowing that we can win with Kelly being out."
On thinking about the win during the game ... "We tried not to think about it at all. Even during the end we were playing like we were down, because you never know what can happen."
