New York Giants Hire Sheridan as Linebackers Coach

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants announced today (Wednesday, Feb. 16) the hiring of University of Michigan defensive line coach Bill Sheridan as the NFL organization's linebackers coach. Sheridan coached three season's with the Michigan football program (2002-04) and is the third assistant coach during head coach Lloyd Carr's tenure to accept an NFL coaching position.
Sheridan spent the past two seasons coaching the Wolverines' defensive line after beginning his career mentoring the linebackers. Sheridan also spent the 2002-03 seasons as the team's recruiting coordinator, netting a pair of top 10 classes.
"Bill Sheridan has done a great job at Michigan," said Carr. "He is an outstanding football coach and an outstanding individual. I appreciate his contributions to this program and I wish him the very best with the New York Giants."
