Harris, Brown Chosen for Big Ten Postseason Awards

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Dion Harris (Detroit, Mich./Redford HS) of the University of Michigan men's basketball team was named All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention today (Tuesday, March 8) by the Big Ten coaches and the media, while junior Graham Brown (Mio, Mich./Mio-AuSable HS) was among the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honorees.

After missing nine games to injury this season, Brown, who was one of three captains for the Wolverines, continued to show his solid play for the Wolverines in his third season, averaging 5.7 points and a career-high 5.3 rebounds. He is shooting 56.5 percent from the field and a career-best 66.7 percent from the free throw line. He recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds at Penn State (Jan. 15, 2005).
The Wolverines (13-17, 4-12 Big Ten) will open the 2005 Big Ten Tournament in Chicago as the No. 9 seed and face No. 8 seed Northwestern in the first round Thursday (March 10) at 11 a.m. CST on ESPN. The winner will go on to face No. 1 seed Illinois in the second round Friday (March 11) at 11 a.m. CST on ESPN.
