PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Junior Lindsey Bruck (Marietta, N.Y./Marcellus) of the University of Michigan women's gymnastics team earned her second straight Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor, announced by the conference office on Wednesday (Jan. 23).

She was honored with the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week laurel last week after leading the Wolverines in a tie at Nebraska. Bruck has four weekly accolades in her career after twice being named conference gymnast of the week in 2005.
Bruck is the first student-athlete since 2004 to repeat as Big Ten Gymnast of the Week. Iowa's Stephanie Gran earned back-to-back honors on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 in 2004 after a pair of all-around titles and Hawkeye wins. Coincidentally, Gran's Jan. 28 accolade came on the day of Michigan's last Big Ten loss.
Michigan tied a Big Ten record with seven gymnast of the week honors in 2005, led by three from Elise Ray (2001-05) and two each for Jenny Deiley (Dayton, Minn./Elk River) and Bruck.
U-M competes in its home opener on Friday (Jan. 27) when it hosts Ohio State on K-grams Night at 7:30 p.m.
