Michigan improved to 40-10-4 all-time against Iowa and 22-4-3 against the Hawkeyes at Michigan Stadium. U-M has won nine of the last 11 meetings overall.
Today's crowd of 110,923 marks the 198th straight game at Michigan Stadium with a crowd of 100,000.
Head coach Lloyd Carr, who earned his 110th career win, improved to 40-7 in Big Ten games at Michigan Stadium.
Today's 20-6 victory is the first time this season the Wolverines have held their opponent without a touchdown. Michigan last held an opponent without a touchdown in a 55-0 win over Eastern Michigan in 2005.
The Wolverines registered five sacks in today's contest, giving them 12 sacks in the past two games.
Senior placekicker Garrett Rivas represented Michigan as the special teams captain in today's game and recorded eight points on two field goals and two extra points.
Senior defensive back Leon Hall's pass breakup in the fourth quarter gives him 11 on the season, which sets a single-season career high.
Senior defensive lineman LaMarr Woodley recorded the 20th sack of his career in the fourth quarter to move into sole possession of sixth place on Michigan's career sacks list. He also notched two tackles for loss to move into a tie for second place in career TFLs at Michigan with 48. His nine sacks this season are the fourth highest number of sacks by a Wolverine this season.
Senior Shawn Crable recorded two straight sacks in the first quarter. The second resulted in a fumble that U-M recovered. His three sacks in the game set a new career high.
Fifth-year senior wideout Steve Breaston tied a career high with seven receptions, pushing him into ninth in program history in career catches with 133. He caught seven last season against Ohio State. Breaston's 64-yard kickoff return in the third quarter is his longest return of the season.
Senior defensive back Brandent Englemon recorded four stops to reach 75 tackles in his career.
Garrett Rivas' 20-yard field goal in the second quarter moved him into sole possession of second place in program history for career field goals made. He finished the game with 58.
Junior tailback Mike Hart finished the game with 31 rushes for 126 yards. He moved into seventh place in Michigan's career rushing list with 3,149 yards. U-M is 16-1 when he rushes for more than 100 yards in a game. He also surpassed the 50-catch mark for his career with his two catches for 17 yards. The junior's four-yard run in the fourth quarter pushed him over 1,000 rushing yards for the season. He has 1,057 yards on the ground this year.
Mike Hart's nine-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter was the 20th scoring run of his career. He later added a 10-yard run for his second multi-touchdown game of the season and third of his career. He had three scoring runs against Central Michigan earlier this season.
Junior quarterback Chad Henne completed 23-of-33 passes for 203 yards and surpassed 1,500 yards for the third straight season. Henne also moved into second place in program history in yards gained with 6,630 in his two-plus year career.
Junior wideout Adrian Arrington, an Iowa native, had a career-high eight receptions for 79 yards. His eight catches are the most by any Michigan player in a game this season.
Junior defensive back Jamar Adams matched a season high with a team-leading six tackles.
Sophomore tight end Carson Butler tied a career high in catches with three for a career-best 42 yards.
Sophomore defensive lineman Terrance Taylor set a career high with four tackles.
Freshman wideout Greg Mathews made his first career start on offense and had a career-best three catches for 16 yards.
