Michigan swept Ferris State in Big Rapids for the sixth time in program history. The last U-M sweep at Ferris State was Nov. 3-4, 1995, which was also the last time Michigan played a weekend series at FSU.
U-M notched three power-play goals for the first time since Oct. 13 vs. Alabama-Huntsville.
U-M has won a season-best five straight games. U-M's last five-game winning streak was Oct. 29-Nov. 12, 2005.
Kevin Porter extended his point streak to a career-best eight games with an assist tonight. Previously, his best streak was seven games, set in 2004-05.
Andrew Cogliano upped his point streak to five games with a first-period goal. He later added an assist for a 3-3-6 line in those games. His career-best point streak is six games.
David Rohlfs' goal stretched his career-best point streak to six games (4-4-8). During that streak he has a goal in three straight games, tying a career best.
Rohlfs' goal was the eighth of his career, setting a career high. He had seven in 2003-04 as a freshman.
Matt Hunwick's assists were the 56th and 57th of his career, allowing him to take over sole possession of 19th place on U-M's assist chart for defensemen. Alex Roberts (1987-90) had been in 19th place with 56 helpers.
Travis Turnbull scored his first goal of the season and the 10th of his career. The marker also was his 20th career point.
T.J. Hensick had three assists in the series at Ferris State, giving him a CCHA-best 18 helpers. Hensick has a point in 11 of 12 games this season.
Hensick's two assists give him 175 career points. He has 119 assists, good for ninth place on U-M's all-time forward assist list.
Chad Kolarik has a six-game point streak with a goal on the night. He has a 3-4-7 line in those games. His career-best stretch is seven games.
T.J. Hensick and Kevin Porter are tied for the team lead with seven multi-point games apiece. Hensick picked up his seventh tonight with a two-assist effort.
