Fox Nets NFHCA All-America Second Team Honors

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Monday (Nov. 20) that University of Michigan senior Mary Fox (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) is one of 16 collegiate student-athletes named to its 2006 NCAA Division I All-America second team. It is the first All-America citation for Fox in her career.

Since 1996, the Wolverines have had an All-American on their roster each season, including four selections in both 2000 and '02. Fourteen U-M student-athletes have garnered All-America honors, combining for 23 citations.
Fox, known for her speed and playmaking abilities, was an All-West Region first team choice for the second time after registering three goals and a team-leading 11 assists. A four-year mainstay on the U-M forwrad line, Fox boasted 28 career helpers over her four collegiate seasons, and ranks fifth among the all-time Wolverine leaders in the category. She was named All-Big Ten Conference three times, including a consensus first-team pick in 2006, and was also selected to participate in the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game this fall.
