Tonight's win snaps Michigan's six-game losing streak in the College Hockey Showcase. U-M's last win came on Dec. 1, 2002, at Minnesota. The win also ends Michigan's three-game CHS losing streak to the Badgers. The last win against Wisconsin was Nov. 29, 2002.
Michigan notched the 1,400th win in program history tonight. The Wolverines are 1,400-911-124 (.600) in their 85th season.
With a goal and two assists, Andrew Cogliano tied his season high for points, and extended his point streak to seven games (4-6-10), setting a career best. Cogliano also has an assist in five straight games.
Porter's career-best point streak was pushed to 10 games with a pair of assists against the Badgers. He has 10-11-21 totals. Porter also currently has a career-best, five-game assist streak.
Hensick has tallied points in four games in a row. During the stretch, he has posted 2-4-6 totals.
Hensick's assist, the 121st of his career, ties him with Bill Muckalt (1995-98) for eighth place among U-M's forwards.
Michigan won for the first time this season when trailing after two periods. U-M is 1-3-0 when down after 40 minutes.
