Super Steelers: Foote, Tuman Help Pittsburgh Win Title

DETROIT, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan football players and current Pittsburgh Steelers Larry Foote and Jerame Tuman won their first world championship, contributing to a 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL, played Sunday night (Feb. 5) at Ford Field.

Foote tallied five tackles from his starting right inside linebacker spot. Tuman played tight end and was thrown to once in the game. Both players participated on the Steelers special teams units.
Former U-M offensive lineman Steve Hutchinson started at left guard for the Seahawks. He helped Seattle out-gain Pittsburgh offensively, 396 to 339, including 259 passing yards by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and 95 rushing yards by NFL MVP Shaun Alexander.
Steelers defensive tackle Grant Bowman (practice squad) and Seahawks cornerback Jeremy LeSueur (practice squad) and defensive end Alain Kashama (injured reserve) did not dress for the game but were on the sidelines. Former U-M secondary coach Teryl Austin coached the Seahawks defensive backs from the field in the Super Bowl.
