Marosevic
Marosevic is the first Wolverine to receive the weekly honor in the 2006 season. The Rockford, Ill., native is also the first U-M freshman to receive the laurel since Nov. 3, 2003, when teammate Bobby Trybula (Loveland, Ohio/Archbishop Moeller HS) earned the accolade.
Marosevic earned his first two-goal game to give the Wolverines a 3-0 victory over Oakland on Wednesday (Sept. 20). The goals came at the 17:06 and 30:12 marks of the game. The freshman Wolverine added an assist in the 2-2 double-overtime draw with Indiana on Sunday (Sept. 24). He was the first freshman to earn a point in the series against Indiana since Oct. 5, 2003, when teammate Kevin Savitskie (Plymouth, Mich./Salem HS) earned a point off an assist.
Marosevic is the current team leader in points (12) and goals (5) and is tied for third in assists (2). In the Big Ten, Marosevic moved to the top of the charts with a second-place tie in points (12) after his five-point performance in the past two games.
Marosevic and the Wolverines will take on the Detroit Titans on Wednesday (Sept. 27) at 7 p.m. on the U-M Soccer Field.
