
Michigan Places 24th at NCAA Championships

Junior Lex Williams (Ann Arbor, Mich./Dexter HS) led the Michigan harriers across the finish line, placing 66th overall with a time of 31:00. Williams was followed by junior/sophomore Brandon Fellows (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island HS) and freshman Craig Forys (Howell, N.J./Colts Neck HS), who finished 94th (31:18) and 96th (31.20), respectively.
Three time All-American Josh McDougal of Liberty University and Galen Rupp of Oregon seperated themeselves from the lead group at the 8,000-meter mark to make it a two-man race for the individual finish. McDougal finished first for the individual title (29:22.40), followed by Rupp in second (29:24) in one of the tightest individual championship races of all-time.
Junior John Black (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice HS) andsenior/juniorVictor Gras (Belmont, Mass./Belmont HS) stayed in the middle pack for the whole race and finished together in 115th (31:27) and 119th (31.30), respectively, closing the scoring for the Maize and Blue.
Another Wolverine finisher was sophomore/freshman Ciaran O'Lionaird (Cork, Ireland/De La Salle HS), who took 175th in 31:25.
