
Four Wolverines Named to Walter Camp All-America Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Walter Camp Football Foundation announced tonight (Thursday, Dec. 6) the selection of four University of Michigan football players to the organization's All-America team. Fifth-year senior left tackle Jake Long(Lapeer, Mich./Lapeer East HS) was named to the first team for the second straight season, and senior tailback Mike Hart(Syracuse, N.Y./Onondaga Central HS), senior linebacker Shawn Crable(Massillon, Ohio/Washington) and junior wide receiver Mario Manningham(Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) received second-team honors.
Long has started all 12 games at left tackle and has allowed just one sack this season. He earned All-Big Ten first team honors and Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year accolades for the second straight year. Long was a finalist for the Rotary Lombardi Award and the Outland Trophy.
Hart, the nation's sixth-leading rusher, was named to the organization's second team for the second straight season. He carried the ball 233 times for 1,232 yards and 12 touchdowns this year, cracking the 100-yard barrier in eight of his nine games played. Hart was a finalist for the Doak Walker Award for the second consecutive season and earned All-Big Ten second team honors this season after collecting first-team accolades in 2004 and 2006.
Crable leads the team with a career-best 84 tackles and a U-M season record 26.5 tackles for loss, the second-best TFL mark in the country this season. He also registered 7.5 sacks and forced four fumbles. Crable earned All-Big Ten second team honors this season and was a Butkus Award semifinalist.
Manningham led the team with career highs in receptions (67), receiving yards (1,096) and receiving touchdowns (11). An All-Big Ten first team selection for the second time in his career, Manningham had an NCAA-leading six straight 100-yard receiving games snapped in the regular-season finale against Ohio State. He was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is presented annually to the nation's best wide receiver.
