U-M Head Coach Ron Warhurst
On the teams best Big Ten outdoor finish in 10 years ... "This is the best final day that I can remember in the last 15 years. We ended up scoring 89 points today. We started off the day with the 4x100-meter relay getting second place and then we had three guys place in the top six in the 1,500-meter run with Justin Switzer winning the title, which was just incredible. After that, everybody just caught fire and kept on going. In the 5,000-meter run we were just hoping to get a few points but Mike Woods took fourth place and Victor Gras ran the race of his career. Everybody was outstanding. Jeff Porter won the 110-meter hurdles, Andrew Ellerton won the 800-meter run and Micheal Whitehead won the triple jump. Adam Harris was second in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash. It was just a fantastic team effort. In the beginning we just caught on fire and everybody else saw that and thought 'if they can do it then we can do it' and that's how it was. What a way to finish. It was a pretty tremendous effort."
