Webster Earns Big Ten Runner of the Week Recognition

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Fifth-year senior Erin Webster (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child) of the University of Michigan women's cross country team was named Big Ten Conference Runner of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 11) for her winning performance at the Indiana Invitational Saturday (Sept. 8) in Bloomington, Ind.

Webster recorded a time of 17:38 on the 5,000-meter course, finishing 17 seconds ahead of the next fastest runner, senior/junior teammate Nicole Edwards (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Vincent Massey), to record her second straight victory at the Indiana event. The award is the third for Webster, who won two of the Big Ten laurels last season.
Webster and the Wolverines will travel to South Bend, Ind., in two weeks for the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28. The 5,000-meter race is scheduled for a 4:15 p.m. start time at the Notre Dame Golf Course.
