Today's special teams captain was senior linebacker Chris Graham.
Senior QB Chad Henne made his 39th career start. He is now third on the all-time list for starts by a Wolverine quarterback. Rick Leach (47, 1975-78) and John Navarre (42, 2000-03) are the only two U-M signal callers to start more games than Henne.
With his touchdown pass in the first quarter, Chad Henne tied John Navarre (2000-03) for the U-M career lead in touchdown passes with 72.
Michigan last started a season 0-2 in 1998 when the Wolverines lost at Notre Dame and vs. Syracuse. That team went on to win a Big Ten championship.
The Wolverines last lost four straight games during the 1967 season. Michigan opened the season 1-0 before going on a five-game skid.
Michigan gave up more than 600 yards on defense for the first time since Nov. 4, 2000, when Northwestern posted a record 654 yards of total offense against the Wolverines.
The 32-point margin of defeat is U-M's ninth-widest dating back to 1920.
Freshman CB Donovan Warren made his first career start. He finished the day with seven tackles and one pass breakup.

RB Mike Hart eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the 20th time in his career, running for 127 yards today.
Freshman QB Ryan Mallett made his collegiate debut under center in the third quarter.
Junior DT Terrance Taylor set a new career high with two sacks in a season. He has one in each game this year.
Fifth-year senior S Brandent Englemon had his third career forced fumble in the third quarter. Senior CB Morgan Trent made his second career fumble recovery on the play.
Junior WR Mario Manningham made the 75th catch of his career on a four-yard pass from Ryan Mallett in the third quarter.
Senior Adrian Arrington made his 50th career reception on a 21-yard pass from Ryan Mallett in the third quarter.
Sophomore OL Perry Dorrestein and freshman DT Renaldo Sagesse each made his collegiate debut in the fourth quarter.
WR Mario Manningham had more than 100 yards receiving for the fourth time in his career. He racked up 117 yards on eight receptions.
Junior P Zoltan Mesko booted a personal-best two punts over 50 yards and tied a career high with six punts on the day. He punted for a career-high 275 yards.
Fifth-year senior OLB Shawn Crable eclipsed the 75-tackle career mark with eight today. He now has 76 tackles in his career.
