Sophomore/freshman running back and return man Avery Horn came all the way from Hanford, Calif., to play for the Maize and Blue. Redshirting his freshman season, Horn debuted this year, seeing his first collegiate playing time on special teams against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 6. Against Illinois on Oct. 4, Horn returned his first-ever kickoff 21 yards and he subsequently served on the kick-return team against Toledo on Oct. 11 and Penn State on Oct. 18. Horn is averaging 20.8 yards on his kick returns, breaking a season-long 33 yarder against Toledo.
