KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Senior defender Michael Holody(Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) of the No. 18-ranked University of Michigan men's soccer team has been named the NSCAA Men's National Player of the Week, the association announced on Wednesday (Oct. 29). Holody guided the Wolverines to an upset victory over then-No. 2 Northwestern, 3-1, on Saturday (Oct. 25) in Evanston, Ill. Along with the rest of the U-M backline, Holody held NU to just two shots on goal in the contest. In a midweek game at then-No. 5 Akron, the Wolverines silenced the nation's top scorer and the third-ranked offense in a 1-0 loss on Wednesday (Oct. 22).
Senior midfielder Jake Stacy(Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central) picked up the same honor on Oct. 8. Michigan is the only school, men's and women's combined, to produce two national player of the week honorees.
