My Game Day at Michigan Stadium

Nick Reaves - Michigan Fan
I'm from Lansing and I've been a big Michigan fan since I was a little kid. All my older brothers are Wolverine fans and my fiance goes to Michigan. I started with painting my face and then painted my body and then a few years ago at Halloween I made myself look like Spiderman but blue and maize. Everyone loved it and I developed it from there. My pads light up blue and maize and I installed speakers in them this year. It doesn't take too long to get ready, maybe 45 minutes to paint myself. For a 3:30 p.m. game I get up around 6 a.m. and shave so the paint looks good and we drive here from Lansing. I run around the tailgates and people take pictures with me and I get a lot of free food and drinks. I try to get all the fans pumped up for the game. After the game we stay and watch the band play and then take off from there.
Kevin Bush and Tony Push - ABC
We are up about 5:30 a.m. and need to be at the Stadium for 8 a.m. to check in and see what our assignments are. We finish things that weren't completed on Friday and then work the parabolic microphones during the game. When it's all over we tear everything down and load up the trucks. We're pretty much always on the parabs covering from the 20-yard line to the goal line as far as we can go. There is one parab in each corner. We try and get the quarterback's cadence, the clap of the huddle, the crunch of the helmets and sometimes what coaches say in timeouts. When it gets loud in here, it's just a lot of noise. It's tough to zone in on any one thing. If it's quiet I can hear somebody talking far off, but if it's loud it's a wall of noise. We have to be careful when the play comes near us. You get yourself out of the way, keep alert and make sure you always have an out.
