• Today's announced crowd of 109,750 is the 211th consecutive game welcoming more than 100,000 fans at Michigan Stadium.
• Today's Michigan game captains were Tim Jamison, Sean Griffin, Will Johnson and Morgan Trent.
• Today's alumni captains were Aaron Shea (1996-99), Tony McGee (1989-92) and Mark Messner (1985-88). Messner was a two-time All-American and one of two Michigan players ever to claim All-Big Ten first team honors all four years.
• Freshman wide receiver LaTerryal Savoy made his first career start at wide receiver and finished the game with one catch for seven yards.
• Michigan opened the game with its fourth different offensive-line rotation in five contests. Senior/junior Mark Ortmann started at left guard and junior/sophomore Perry Dorrestein started at left tackle.
• Michigan has started the same 11 players on defense for four straight contests.
• Freshman Martavious Odoms gained 122 all-purpose yards in the first quarter on four touches. The U-M rookie tallied a pair of kick returns for 69 yards and two catches for 53 yards.
• Odoms became the first Wolverine to record a 100 receiving yards in a game this season, catching seven passes for 129 yards, and he returned seven kickoffs for 183 yards.
• Odoms' 36-yard kick return on the opening kickoff is U-M's longest kick return of the season.
• Junior wide receiver Greg Mathews' 32-yard punt return in the first quarter is Michigan's longest punt return of the season.
• Mathews recorded his first touchdown of the season with an 11-yard reception in the first quarter.
• Michigan scored two first-quarter touchdowns for the first time this season.
• Junior/sophomore linebacker Obi Ezeh, ABC's Michigan Player of Game, recorded double-digit tackles for the fifth time in his last nine games. Ezeh tied a career high with 15 tackles, including 4.5 for 12 yards lost.
• Sophomore/freshman quarterback Steven Threet surpassed 200 passing yards for the first time this season, completing 18 passes for a career-high 250 yards.
• Threet is the first Wolverine quarterback to throw two touchdown passes in a game this season, connecting with Greg Mathews and Mark Moundros for the two scores.
• Junior/sophomore Mark Moundros scored his first career touchdown on a two-yard pass from Threet in the fourth quarter.
• Illinois' 45 points represent the most scored against Michigan in seven seasons, dating back to the 2001 season when Tennessee defeated U-M 45-17 in the Capital One Bowl (Jan. 1, 2002). It is the most points scored against U-M in the Big House since 1991 when Florida State claimed a 51-31 victory over Michigan (Sept. 28, 1991).
• Illinois quarterback Juice Williams set a Michigan Stadium record for total offense with 431 yards (310 passing, 121 rushing). The previous record was held by Illinois' Tony Eason, who recorded 403 total yards in a 70-21 Michigan win on Nov. 7, 1981.
• Williams' 431 yards total offense also matches the U-M opponent record. He shares the distinction with Northwestern's Sandy Schwab (49-14 U-M win, Oct. 23, 1982).
• The last time Illinois beat Michigan was Oct. 23, 1999, when the Fighting Illini claimed a 35-29 decision at the Big House.
