
Marosevic Named to National Team of the Season

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Junior Peri Marosevic(Rockford, Ill./Edison Academy) of the No. 14-ranked University of Michigan men's soccer team earned second team honors on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Season, the publication announced today (Friday, Nov. 21). Marosevic was one five players from the Big Ten to be selected to one of the publication's three national teams.
The Wolverines' leading scorer with 12 goals, Marosevic was twice selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week. He earned the laurel on Oct. 13 on the strength of a hat trick against Western Michigan on Oct. 12 and again on Nov. 10 thanks to a two-goal performance in a 2-0 win over Penn State (Nov. 8) in the regular-season finale.
The award joins a growing list of hardware that Marosevic has collected this season. He was selected All-Big Ten first team, twice named Big Ten Player of the Week and named to a Soccer America and College Soccer News National Teams of the Week during the 2008 campaign.
Marosevic and the 11th-seeded Wolverines will play host to the winner of the Denver vs. UC Davis in the second round of the NCAA Championship on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. on the U-M Soccer Complex's competition field. Denver and UC Davis will meet in Sacramento, Calif., on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m.
