LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Senior/junior Patrick Sperry(Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) of the University of Michigan men's soccer team was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's College Team of the Week, as announced by the website on Monday (Nov. 3).
Sperry made six saves in a 1-0 victory over Ohio State on Saturday (Nov. 1). The shutout, his fourth of the season, was the 17th in his three-year stint as the starter. He needs two more shutouts to match the Michigan all-time record set by Peter Dzubay (2002-05). Sperry set a program record for shutouts against a Big Ten opponent. He has posted five blank slates against conference opponents, besting Dzubay's four.
The Wolverines will close out the regular season with Penn State on Saturday (Nov. 8) at 2 p.m. on the west practice field of the U-M Soccer Complex.
