ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Three more University of Michigan football players signed free agent NFL contracts following the conclusion of the 2008 NFL Draft. Offensive lineman Adam Kraus(New Orleans, La./Brother Martin HS) signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens, and safety Brandent Englemon(Covington, Ky./Holmes HS) and linebacker Chris Graham(Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central HS) received tryouts with the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals organizations, respectively. They join free agent signee Jamar Adams(Charlotte, N.C./Butler HS), who agreed to a pact with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday (April 28).
Kraus will reunite with his position coach at Michigan, Andy Moeller, the assistant offensive line coach with the Ravens. Kraus started 26 consecutive games to finish his career for the Wolverines. He started the first eight games of the 2007 season at left guard but moved to center for the final five games of the season. Kraus earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and All-Big Ten first team accolades as a senior after collecting first team all-conference honors as a junior. He made 35 starts along the offensive line in 39 career appearances.
Englemon earned the opportunity with the Packers and could line up in the same backfield as former U-M player and 1997 Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson. Englemon earned the Charles Woodson Award as Michigan's top defensive back in 2007 after finishing fourth on the team with a career-best 86 tackles, fourth-best among Big Ten defensive backs last year. Englemon started 27 of his 48 career games at safety, compiling 170 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, three interceptions and 13 pass breakups.
Graham joins the Bengals' linebacking corps that already includes former Wolverine Dhani Jones. He was named the 2007 Roger Zatkoff Award winner as U-M's top linebacker after tying for second on the team with a career-high 90 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups.
