FRIDAY, SEPT. 12 C Excitement Brewing for Home Opener
Today was a very exciting day. We officially began welcoming other teams as they arrived for their practice round to our beautiful facility as we host the 2008 Wolverine Invitational. Each year we look particularly forward to this tournament as we get to show others what a wonderful program and course we have here in Ann Arbor.
Everyone was eager today as they arrived to the course for our 7 a.m. warm-up and practice round. Our excitement has been building throughout the week as we closed with our qualifying rounds and began to get ready for this day. This Saturday is the official start of our season and the first time we will tee it up for tournament play.
It is exciting for newcomers Milena (Savich), Brooke (Bettis), Jen (Cleary) and my sister, Meagan. All of them will be participating in their first collegiate golf tournament. So it goes without saying that they are particularly ready for the event to get underway. As for the coaches and rest of us, we are all excited and ready to begin the season. It is always fun to get to play in front of home fans while getting to sleep in your own bed.
We are truly excited about the coming year. We have some wonderful young ladies joining our team who each have already blended nicely into our team. The team chemistry seems so easy. For me, it is also interesting with my sister, Meagan, being here. I look forward to having her not only cheering for the U-M, but also competing with me for the Maize and Blue. I know she, as well as the other girls, will be a great asset to the team this year. It will be really great to play in a tournament with her again.
It appears weather conditions may not be looking to promising for the weekend, but please dont let that stop you! We would love to have you out on the course supporting us. Loud and rowdy crowds are welcome as well. We would love to hear from you!!
GO BLUE!!

MONDAY, SEPT. 8 C Welcome to Fairways and Greens
We are very excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for the Wolverines and are thrilled to have the opportunity to share them with you. Throughout the upcoming year, we will be providing weekly updates to give you the inside scoop.
With the beginning of school comes the beginning of constant excitement. School, daily practices, team functions, and meetings, meetings, and more meetings all began last week. Highlights for the week included a dinner in which Student-Athletes were greeted by the Athletic department and Jalen Rose. It was very nice to spend time with the team while meeting other student-athletes and staff. Additionally, we began our qualifying rounds for our home tournament.
Qualifying is always a competitive time amongst team members as eleven girls vie for five spots. As of this past Sunday, our team has successfully completed four rounds of qualifying with one round remaining to play on Wednesday. Things are definitely looking bright for the golf team as we shot a team score of 294 in the afternoon round on Sunday.
With classes, practices, and finding our way around campus, everyone is keeping busy as we prepare for our opening tournament. If you can make it to Ann Arbor, we would love to see some Maize and Blue and hear some cheering fans at our season opener. The Wolverine Invitational will be held at our home golf course on September 13th and 14th. Everyone welcome!
Fairways and Greens ... and always Go BLUE!!
