
Fall Events Scheduled for Baseball Program

ANN ARBOR, Mich. C The University of Michigan baseball team announced today (Sept. 4) a series of events taking place this fall, beginning with the third-annual alumni tailgate and awards ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The tailgate event, taking place at the Mortenson Plaza, is open to all baseball alumni and their guests and begins two hours prior to Michigan's football game versus Wisconsin. The team will hand out awards from the 2008 season, including the presentation of the Big Ten championship trophy, championship rings and individual honors.
The following day (Sept. 28), the baseball program will host its seventh-annual golf outing at the U-M Golf Course. The outing is open to the public, but space is limited, with reservations due by September 13. The format is a four-person scramble with an 8 a.m. check-in and breakfast before a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee of $130 per person includes green fees, cart, lunch and dinner. Flight prizes will be awarded and there will also be a raffle and silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the U-M baseball team.
The team will then wrap up fall practices with the annual Maize and Blue game on Sunday, October 5, beginning at 10 a.m. Following the intrasquad contest will be a lunch reception at the Four Points Sheraton, open to the public at a cost of $20 per person.
