San Diego State opened the scoring just 6:34 into the contest when Raymundo Reza found the back of the net to give the Aztecs the 1-0 lead. Reza received a pass from Evan Toft and slotted the ball into the corner of the net from 12 yards out.
Marosevic then tied the game for the Maize and Blue at 35:07 with his fourth goal of the season. Marosevic took a pass from junior/sophomore Matt Schmitt (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) and bent a curving shot into the upper right corner of the goal from 23 yards out.
Marosevic and Schmitt connected again in the 52nd minute to give the Wolverines a 2-1 lead. Schmitt dribbled his way into the box on the left side and sent a cross to Marosevic who was all alone and calmly tucked the ball into the right corner of the net.
San Diego State tied the match with less than four minutes to play in regulation on a goal by Daniel Steres. Reza fed a pass to Steres who scored from just inside the six-yard box.
The Wolverines and Aztecs then headed to overtime where Fuzetti provided the game-winner for Michigan. Sophomore Adam Keller (Franklin, Mich./Groves) sent a long cross to Fuzetti who volleyed one home from 10 yards out into the upper left corner to give the Maize and Blue the triumph.
The Wolverines will return to action on Sunday (Sept. 7) when they take on San Diego. Game time between the Wolverines and Toreros is scheduled for 1 p.m. PDT at Torero Stadium in San Diego, Calif.

QUOTES
Michigan Head Coach Steve Burns
On the game ... "This was a real big test for us, flying three time zones and playing a quality team that is going to be in the hunt for the Pac-10 title and an NCAA bid. Last year, our team would have had trouble with that, but this year the team responded very well. Even coming off 2-2 (at the end of regulation), most of the team was very positive about the fact that they could rise to the challenge of winning the game in overtime.
On Mauro Fuzetti's game-winning goal ... "Adam Keller received the ball 30 yards from our goal, went past one defender and had space in front of him. He got all the way to the end line and served a ball across the field. Mauro was playing right midfield and came in on the ball and it looked like he should have headed the ball. But Mauro did a bit of a cartwheel where he threw his left leg high in the air, so it wasn't truly a bicycle kick, and came across with his right leg. His feet were now six feet in the air and he struck the ball cleanly. As he hit the ball we all knew it had a chance to catch the side-netting. It was hit so strong and so well that the goalkeeper didn't have any chance. It was easily the greatest goal he has scored in the Michigan uniform and maybe the greatest in his life."
