Series Notes
Tonight's game marked the 270th meeting between the in-state rivals. Michigan falls to 133-119-18 with the win tonight.
U-M's six-game winning streak over the Spartans was broken tonight. The streak dated back to Feb. 23, 2008; Michigan won all five meetings with MSU during the 2008-09 season.
The loss tonight signified the first time since Oct. 26-Nov. 23, 2001, that the Wolverines have dropped three straight home games.
Team Notes
Michigan's goal at 12:54 of the second period snapped a scoreless streak lasting 82:11; U-M had not scored since the first period vs. Miami on Nov. 7. Previously, its longest drought this season had been 98:26, spanning from a first-period goal against Niagara on Oct. 22 to a third-period goal against Boston University on Oct. 24.
