Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On how to turn the team around ... "We'll turn it around. It's just a matter of when. It's like any team, there's going to be a weak link at some point when you're losing. You could say [Bryan Hogan] isn't playing that well; well he gave us a chance tonight. There are some times where your defense isn't playing well and they're turning the puck over; you saw that tonight with two costly goals. And there are times where your forwards can't score and you saw that again tonight. We're in that dilemma. It's easy to pinpoint why we're losing. What you want to do is get to the point where you're talking about why you're winning because they're [giving you] good goalkeeping, good defense. This is a team thing and we've all got to work hard to get out of it. We have to re-think maybe our roles or some of our players -- who can help the team more, so on and so forth. Right now, we're just in a tough stretch and we knew we were playing good teams. I thought we played well, but costly goals and the opportunities to score -- we didn't capitalize on them. Louie [Caporusso] had a breakaway, walked in [and hit the post], but you've got to put those in. We're doing a lot of good things. These are one-goal games and we're on the wrong end of the goals."
U-M Senior Defenseman Steve Kampfer
On comparing tonight's game to Friday's loss ... "I thought tonight's game was better than last night. I thought we had a lot more jump. Obviously, we couldn't bury our chances. As Coach Berenson said, goals were precious and we gave them two turnover goals. It kills you. We're having a hard time scoring goals right now and we can't give them up too easily."
On positives that can be taken from this game ... "I liked our team's effort. I liked how hard we came out. We came out strong. I thought we worked hard. I just think we've got to improve off of this weekend."
