
Diving Duo Wraps Up Action at Purdue Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The diving duo of freshman Kasey Allen (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) and sophomore Chris Morrison (Fenton, Mich./Fenton) of the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team each posted a top-eight finish to give U-M 24 points over the three-day Purdue Invitational (Fri-Sun., Nov. 20-22), held at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
Allen picked up an eighth-place finish in the three-meter dive on Saturday (Nov. 21), racking up 322.0 points to give Michigan its first 11 points of the meet.
Morrison then ended the meet with a sixth-place showing in platform diving Sunday (Nov. 22), the first time the sophomore has competed in the event this season. Morrison scored a 226.0 to put another 13 points on the board for the Wolverine diving duo.
The rest of the Wolverines conclude action from the TYR Invitational at Northwestern University today (Sunday, Nov. 22) before heading to the USA Swimming Short Course Nationals, Dec. 3-6.
N O T E S
This meet marked the first taste of Big Ten diving for both divers this season.
The Wolverines went "split-squad" this weekend, with the divers in action at Purdue, while a group of 11 swimmers were in action at the TYR Invitational at Northwestern.
Kasey Allen's mark of 322.0 in the three-meter dive is an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying mark.
