Fuzetti Invited to 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior forward Mauro Fuzetti (Houston, Texas/Stratford) of the University of Michigan men's soccer team earned an invitation to the 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine, held Jan. 8-12 at Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Fuzetti becomes the sixth Michigan player to participate in the MLS pre-draft combine.
Fuzetti led the Wolverines in nearly every offensive category during his senior campaign. He played and started in 17 games and recorded 19 points with a team-high eight goals and three assists. He firmly cemented himself in the U-M record books this season, finishing his U-M career ranked No. 1 all-time in shots with 186. Additionally, he set U-M's single-game record for shots with 11 against Wright State on Sept. 11.
Fuzetti was named the Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Michigan Invitational and earned All-Tournament team honors. He was named to the College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.com National Teams of the Week for his efforts at the Michigan Invitational. Fuzetti also earned All-Big Ten first team accolades for the second consecutive season and was named honorable mention on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Year.
Fuzetti will be joined at the pre-draft combine by fellow Big Ten players Eric Alexander and Ofori Sarkodie of Indiana and Jason Yeisley of Penn State.
The coaching and management staffs of all 16 MLS teams will be in attendance to scout talent at the 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine. The 2010 MLS SuperDraft will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, in Philadelphia, Pa.
The 2010 adidas MLS Player Combine will separate all players into four teams and feature two games per day on Jan. 9, 10 and 12 at Central Brower Regional Park. Each team will be led by an experienced Division I coach who will be assisted by an experienced soccer professional.
