Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On the game ... "We gave up four goals and that's too many to win a game -- two on their power play and then two bad goals - [Bryan Hogan] should have stopped the third goal and [Shawn] Hunwick should have stopped the fourth goal. It's just one of those things. So do you regret (pulling Hogan)? No - you can't look back. I thought our team played really well. We played hard, we played well -- we didn't get the lead in the game that you'd like to get, but we fought back, we tied it and it's too bad we gave up an unearned goal."
On his decision to remove starting goalie Bryan Hogan ... "You're trying to spark your team a little bit and you just can't keep going if your goalie is having a bad night or if he's just not in sync. Hogie will probably play tomorrow - he's our starting goalie, but it's one of those things when you do what you think is best for the team."
U-M Senior Defenseman Chris Summers
On tonight's game ... "When you're watching a team like that, it's tough to point the finger at anybody. It is a team game so whether it's the `D' not getting shots through or not coming up with timely saves or the forwards not burying the puck. It's a combination of a lot of things. All in all we didn't finish. We didn't perform the way we needed to perform tonight."
On if it was demoralizing when RPI went ahead 4-3 ... "It can be. That's the way hockey goes sometimes. It's kind of been the story of the season this year. But this is the beginning of the second half of our season and we're looking forward to tomorrow's game."
U-M Junior Forward Carl Hagelin
On the amount of offensive chances ... "It's probably a mix between not getting great opportunities, maybe not being patient around the net. We usually get 45 shots and we don't get any goals. Finally, we got three goals so we're on the right way. Guys are bearing down. Wohlberg got a goal and had a really good game. It's huge for us."
On allowing two power-play goals ... "Maybe with the break, we took a couple steps back with the penalty kill. We're usually really strong, but today we gave up two easy goals right at the beginning of each of their power plays. I think we've got to regroup and go over some video tomorrow to really rethink what we're going to do because we know we're a strong PK. We're one of the better units in the nation and we've got to stay stronger and not give up more than one goal a game.
On tying up the game ... "It felt like we were on a roll. I don't think they had one shot before that so obviously you feel good about yourself scoring that goal. We kept going. We showed character today. We are a good team and we've just got to believe in ourselves, our goalies, and our goal-scoring. We should be fine if we start doing that."
