• Michigan moves to 17-24 all-time in Big Ten openers. The last time Michigan won a Big Ten opener on the road was during the 2000-01 season, a 68-57 win over Illinois. It is also the second time in the Kevin Borseth era that the Wolverines have defeated Iowa to open the Big Ten season.
• The Wolverines opened the Big Ten season on the road for the second consecutive season; U-M opened conference play at Ohio State last season. Michigan also opened against Iowa for the second time in the last three years and defeated the Hawkeyes on both occasions.
• Today's victory was the first Big Ten road win since the 2007-08 season at Illinois and is the first win in Iowa since the 2001-02 season.
• Junior guard Veronica Hicks extended her double-figure scoring streak to eight games with 11 points in tonight's game. She is the lone Wolverine to score in double figures in each game this season.
• Sophomore Carmen Reynolds posted U-M's first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. It was a career best in rebounds for Reynolds and her first career double-double.
• Freshman guard Jenny Ryan, who leads the Wolverines in rebounding, posted a career-best 10 rebounds. She also posted a career-best three blocks in today's contest.
• The Wolverines had two players with double-figure rebounds in tonight's game. Reynolds and Ryan each had 10 boards. It is the third time this season that a Wolverine has posted 10 rebounds.
• Senior center Krista Phillips picked up her 500th career rebound in tonight's game. She becomes one of 17 players in program history with 500 career rebounds and has led the Wolverines in rebounding in each of her four years at Michigan.
• The Wolverines have a 2-0 record in games televised on the Big Ten Network this year. Michigan defeated Marquette, 67-50, earlier this season.
• Michigan wore blue uniforms for the second time this season. The Wolverines improved their record to 1-1 in the blue uniforms; U-M lost to New Mexico State in its other game in the blue uniforms.
