Vladimir Emilien, a 6-0, 186 pound safety from Plantation High School in Lauderhill, Fla., registered 93 tackles and three interceptions as a junior but tore his ACL the summer before his senior year and missed his final prep season. Emilien is a four-star prospect and the nation's No. 14 safety according to Rivals.com. He enrolled in U-M for the winter semester in the School of Kinesiology.

What did you do to stay in shape and focused after your ACL injury
I kept lifting and running. That's all I did. I made sure I wasn't a couch potato. I told my mom that as soon as I could walk, I was going to walk and as soon as I could run, I was going to run. That's all I did. I ran A LOT.

Your birthday is usually the same week as Thanksgiving. Do you throw a giant Thanksgiving/Birthday party or have two separate celebrations
I get two different things. I get a birthday and then I get a Thanksgiving dinner.
Most memorable high school moment
My first big hit playing safety against Monarch.The guywas coming down the sideline and came around the corner. I saw his eyes pop up and I don't think he saw me and right before I hit him I said, "I got you!" I hit him and I wasn't sure what happened, but I got up and saw him lying on the ground. He handed the ball to my coach instead of the ref, which is how good I got him.
