Junior OF Alan Oaks made his 2009 debut with a splash, hitting a two-run, pinch-hit homer in the ninth inning. It is the ninth career homer for Oaks and the third pinch homer in his career. It is U-M's first pinch homer since Oaks beat Vanderbilt's College Player of the Year and top draft pick David Price with a 10th-inning blast to win the regional title game against the top-ranked Commodores on June 4, 2007. Oaks hit his first career homer as a pinch hitter at Northwestern on April 1, 2007.
Sophomore CF Ryan LaMarre, who leads the Wolverines in hitting with a .419 (18-for-43) average, was 2-for-5 with his team-leading sixth multi-hit game of the season. LaMarre also extended his hitting streak to six games.
Junior RF Nick Urban was 2-for-4 with his first career homer, a three-run blast in U-M's four-run fifth inning. Urban notched his fourth multi-hit game of the season and is hitting .341 (14-for-41) while leading the team with six extra-base hits.
Junior/sophomore SS Anthony Toth was 2-for-4 and his two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning snapped a 2-2 tie and proved to be his first career game-winning RBI. Toth has four two-hit games this season and five for his career.
Senior co-captain 2B Kevin Cislo was 1-for-5 with a ninth-inning RBI single to extend his team-leading hitting streak to six games. He is tied with LaMarre for the longest current hit streak on the squad.

Freshman 3B John Lorenz collected his first career home run with a two-run shot in the second inning to give UM a 2-1 lead.
