
Inside Michigan Football Debuts Thursday on Radio and TV

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- The Inside Michigan Football package returns for another season with the Inside Michigan Football TV show and the Inside Michigan Football Coaches Radio Show debuting Thursday (Aug. 27). Inside Michigan Football, the University of Michigan Athletic Department-owned football show, returns for a second season with the first episode at 8 p.m. on FS Detroit. Hosted by Jim Brandstatter, the half-hour show will feature analysis from head coach Rich Rodriguez and be packed with highlights and features behind the scenes at Michigan football. Doug Karsch also returns for a second year with the program.
Karsch pulls double duty as the host of the Inside Michigan Football Coaches Radio Show, airing each Thursday at 7 p.m. on WXYT Radio, select affiliates and on the web atMGoBlue.com. Head coach Rich Rodriguez and members of the coaching staff will participate in the hour-long show which is broadcast live from Pizza House, located at 618 Church Street in Ann Arbor.
Inside Michigan Football will be broadcast 15 times throughout the season, airing every Thursday at noon on FS Detroit with re-airs at 7 and 10 p.m. as well as Saturdays at 9 a.m. when no professional conflicts exist. The Big Ten Network will air Inside Michigan Football on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. Additional airings on FSN Detroit and the Big Ten Network will be announced later.
The TV show includes game highlights, player features, postgame locker room reactions, commentary from Rodriguez and a preview of the next opponent. Additional features such as sideline spotlights with former players, sounds of the game segments and more will give fans an inside peek at the 130th edition of the Wolverines.
Unfortunately, due to Big Ten Network regulations, Inside Michigan Football will not be available onMGoBlue.com.
Producer and director Patrick McLaughlin returns with the TV show in its second season looking to make it bigger and bolder than ever. With over 25 years of experience in television, McLaughlin has won numerous Emmy awards and has produced features with a number networks, including ABC News and ESPN. He has worked with the University of Michigan athletic department for 12 years and was the producer of Wolverine Sports Magazine.
Jim Brandstatter has been a Michigan sportscaster since his graduation from the University of Michigan in 1972. Jim has brought University of Michigan football games to life for more than 20 years on radio in Detroit and the statewide Wolverine network, while being a part of every Michigan football coach's show since 1980, working with Bo Schembechler, Gary Moeller and Lloyd Carr. Brandstatter has also been calling Detroit Lions games for Infinity Radio's statewide Lions network since 1987.
Karsch has a number of years of television and radio experience, hosting the Michigan Football Pre-Game Show on WOMC while also serving as the in-game sideline reporter. He also hosts The Karsch and Anderson Show middays on 97.1 The Ticket and hosts many of MGoBlue.com's internet features.
