Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "It's tough to sweep any team in their own building, including us, obviously. Our team had to make a better commitment to this game and I thought we did. I thought we played with more passion and more emotion. We worked harder and we got more puck luck. Last night, they may have had the puck luck. Tonight we did. You saw [David] Wohlberg's go in and two of Scooter Vaughan's goals. You can't say they are great goals or earned goals, but they were going in tonight. Last night, they were not going in. When you work harder you get luckier."
On playing with a sense of urgency ... "More energy, we had more energy. We had more push and more conviction in our game. I called it determination last night. I will call it conviction tonight."
On scoring in the first eight seconds ... "That was good getting the early goal. I've seen a game go either way after you score that early goal. That was an important goal. The first goal, no matter when it goes in, is good to get it."
On changes to the top two lines ... "I thought it was the right thing to do. We weren't getting five-on-five scoring from either line. They are our top two lines and they have to play better. They have to play strong every night. We are going to be changing them from time to time if we do not think they are working."
U-M Senior Forward Scooter Vaughan
On tonight's win compared to last night's loss ... "It was a world of difference tonight. Everyone was ready to play, excited to play. They really took it to us last night and we had a statement to prove tonight."
On recovering from last night ... "We had a lot to prove. They are a very good offensive team and defensively, too. We had to work hard not only with skill but in the defensive zone. It all starts with defense -- guys need to use their bodies and sacrifice. They need to put pucks out and passes on the tape getting to the offense."
On his increase in goals this season ... "I have just been working hard and trying to get pucks to the net. You don't score if you don't shoot, so just getting pucks to the net and getting breakout passes from the defense and having my linemates help out."
U-M Senior Forward Carl Hagelin
On the large margin of victory ... "There was a lot of desperation tonight. We didn't turn over the puck as much as last night so they didn't get enough chances to win this game. It comes down to us playing well from the get-go and winning battles."
On playing more aggressively ... "Now we know we can't just play with 90 percent of our talent. We need to show up and play 100 percent from the get-go like we did today. Otherwise, it's going to be tough to win games."
On scoring the first goal ... "I think it's great to get the first goal. It is a downer for Nebraska to get scored on in the first few seconds. It helped our team. We got some momentum and got going from there."
