Series Notes
Michigan has won 12 straight games against LSSU dating back to Feb. 18, 2007, making it U-M's longest winning streak in series history. All time, U-M leads the series 60-46-6.
U-M is 29-18-3 against LSSU on home ice. Since the start of the millennium, Michigan is 16-2-0 against LSSU at Yost Ice Arena, including an active eight-game winning streak.
Team Notables
Tonight's win was the 500th Wolverine win at Yost Ice Arena. Michigan has compiled an overall record of 500-187-33 since the building opened at the beginning of the 1973-74 season.
Tonight's win ended a four-game winless streak (0-3-1) on Fridays. U-M is 2-3-1 on Fridays, with its only other win occurring on Oct. 8 at Bowling Green.
Michigan set season highs for goals (7) and goals in a period (4 in the first period). The seven goals were the most since Feb. 13, 2009, when U-M beat Nebraska-Omaha, 8-3, at home. That night the Wolverines also had their last four-goal period.
Eleven of Michigan's 12 forwards recorded at least one point. Kevin Lynch, Scooter Vaughan, and A.J. Treais registered multi-point games (each had a goal and an assist).
Michigan defensemen had three more points (1-2-3) tonight, increasing their season total to 35 (8-27-35) in 13 games.
Scooter Vaughan's goal was the team's third shorthanded goal this season. In 2009-10, Michigan recorded five shorthanded goals.

With his goal tonight, Jon Merrill continues to lead U-M defensemen in points (2-7-9).
Carl Hagelin, David Wohlberg, and Scooter Vaughan each scored tonight to remain tied for the team goals lead. Each has six goals.
Ben Winnett's game-winning goal was the second of his career. His first came in the 5-1 Michigan win against Michigan State, in the 2008 GLI final on Dec. 28, 2008.
With the win tonight, Shawn Hunwick ends his four-game winless streak (0-2-2). He also accounted for an assist on A.J. Treais goal, the first helper of his career.
